The development of AI literacy teaching continues in the Innokas network
In a pilot project supporting AI literacy among children and young people, 10/2025–12/2026, teaching modules produced by the Innokas network that support AI literacy will be tested, evaluated, and further developed, and then disseminated. The content will be developed particularly from the perspective of the guidelines on artificial intelligence in education – legislation and recommendations – prepared by the Ministry of Education and Culture and the National Agency for Education. The existing teaching modules in the pilot will also be supplemented with methods related to children’s rights and participation, and the content will be linked more strongly to the descriptions of digital competence.
The pilot is funded by the Ministry of Education and Culture. Five teachers from grades 3–6 and their students from the Innokas network’s regional coordination areas in Lohja, Lappeenranta, Rovaniemi, Oulu, and Tampere are involved in the development work. The project is coordinated by Leenu Juurola, project manager of the Innokas network.
