New project to develop innovation and programming skills in Swedish-language schools
In autumn 2025, the Innokas network launched a two-year project, Från Kod till Kreativitet – Innovation, Programmering, AI och Robotik i skolan (From Code to Creativity – innovation, programming, AI and robotics in schools), funded by Svenska Kulturfonden with the aim of developing Innokas activities in Swedish-speaking schools.
Through its projects, the Innokas network wants to support the teaching and learning of innovative innovation, programming, and robotics skills, particularly among Swedish-speaking teachers and students. Through the project, we aim to enable Swedish-speaking teachers and students to participate in the network’s activities, supporting the development of future skills in the long term. These goals will be pursued by supporting the participation of Swedish-speaking teachers and students in the Innokas programming and robotics competition.
Laura Salo, project manager of the Innokas network at the University of Helsinki, organizes and coordinates the project in collaboration with Jens Lindholm, the network’s Swedish-speaking coordinator. Six schools from Kokkola, Lohja, Sipoo, Inkoo, and Loviisa are participating in the project.
