What’s Dance/theater?

In the Dance/theater event, the teams prepare a 1-2 minute long creative performance, where the robots and the performers perform interactively.

The dance performance features one or more robots that move to the music with the performers. Interactivity between the robots and the performers is important. The evaluation of the dance emphasizes choreography, as well as the movement of the robots and people to the music.

In a theater performance, the music may be part of the performance, but robots do not have to move exactly to the music, and there does not have to be music in the performance. The theater performance tells a story or presents some theme (for example, book or movie themes, Olympics, etc.). The evaluation of the theater performance emphasizes the use of robots in telling the story or presenting the theme.

The Innokas programming and robotics tournament will be expanded in 2024 as a trial run to early childhood education and preschool. Teams in this age group can participate in the Innokas Dance/theater event and the Innokas AI Freestyle CREATION division.

It’s also possible to participate in the regional tournament online.
