The new projects have a broad perspective on gamification in teaching and learning

Two new development projects, funded by the Finnish National Agency for Education, have been launched in the Innokas Network in the fall of 2023: the basic education project Game it now 2.0 and the first-ever high school project facilitated through the Innokas Network titled Gaming for High Schools. In these projects, the theme is explored broadly from the perspectives of games, gamification, game literacy, and game design. As a result of the development work, a path for game-based learning is created, incorporating methods, materials, and practices that support both learning and teaching.

The coordination of the projects is managed by the City of Lappeenranta, Eduks (Game it now 2.0), the City of Espoo (Gaming for High Schools), in collaboration with the Innokas team from the Faculty of Educational Sciences at the University of Helsinki. Additionally, the projects involve participation from the cities of Kuopio, Larsmo, Lohja, Oulu, Tampere, Rovaniemi, and the eNorssi network of teacher training schools.

You can follow the project activities in the Innokas Network blog (in Finnish).
